This week flew by like it had somewhere to be. Days whirled by in front of my eyes...or was that the dogs chasing their balls for their 462nd time today. They were ecstatic to get their balls back this week after the sleet of ice in the yard turned soft again and the rain broke it up a bit into chunks which of course were instantly consumed. Isla loves the tiny chuck it ball, Tonka loves the bigger one. Meiko is content with whatever one comes her way and the others are picking up the stragglers as they buzz past. The long nerf rope got a workout this week as well, a favorite toy amongst them all. The cold nip to the air was a bit hard but more so on me then on the dogs. They would stay outside all day if I let them. They did find a few rare moments of sunshine this week though which were gone faster than sand through an hourglass. They love the snow but they consume the sunshine just as quickly.
One day it's romping and rolling in the snow and ice and the next it's absorbing the heat of the melting patches on the top side of the yard. I think we are all ready for summer.
Got all the dogs in one photo a couple of times this week. SO hard to do!
It's been an extremely quiet week without much news to report to anyone but peaceful and always fun none the less. The rain pours in now in sheets trying it's hardest to wipe out the last of the ice. We always find windows of time to play around the rainfall but days like this seem to be relentless. The peace flows in though as we wait for a new chapter to start around here.
No sign yet of Meiko shifting into heat but I'm crossing my fingers it will be so very soon. It was wonderful to talk to many families this week about their dreams, wishes, plans and hopes for their future pup to join their family. Some stories it's the beginning of a life long dream, for others it's a space that so desperately needs to be filled once again. I'm here the whole way for support, care, knowledge and to guide you through this incredibly fun process ahead. I'm constantly doing the happy heat dance with Meiko, feeding her supplements and vitamins to balance hormones and to boost regularity in her system. I'll continue dancing while we all try our best to wait patiently on mother nature to gift us new news of a shift soon.
In the meantime we cruise along, loving life, throwing balls, chasing dreams and taking in stories of the future. All the dogs send their love to you all!!!
