Fluff in mass quantities, and eyes that sink into your soul for miles. Every little paw that climbs up my legs melts me into the floor and these eyes connect in the blink of a moment. Of course they all ask to climb into my lap all at once and I try my best to create a space for each of them. All demanding my attention but all just asking for love.
They are at the perfect age of that perfect little creature somewhere between earth and heaven. They don't seem quite real right now as their bodies have definitely matured into full blown puppies and every ounce of my tiny squishy squashy potato babies have vanished.
Their confidence is soaring, their patience is lengthening, their eyes are working their magic deeper, their potty and crate training routine is getting better by the day and their desire to connect on a more 1 on 1 basis is definitely sky rocketing. The cold weather makes for playtime outside a bit short but we still venture out and once they are bolting around, the cold snap doesn't phase them really in the slightest. Hot little bodies at full speed ahead makes the chill non relevant.
These darlings will go out on a field trip to my vet on Monday to get checked out, doted upon and given a clean bill of health. It's always an extremely fun day for everyone. From there each pup will get officially matched to their families. Monstera will go exactly where he should be, Begonia will love on the people that were meant for her, tiny Ivy will snuggle into the arms of the person that will spoil her the most and the rest of the pups will be in the hearts and homes of the families were were destined to be theirs. Families will come in all next week and into next weekend with buzzing excitement and eager arms outstretched to bring their forever fur friend home. Hearts will be healed, homes will be filled and refilled once again, laps will be warmed and lives will be changed forever. I am blessed and honored to have this opportunity to place these amazing fluffs with these extraordinary families. Thank you to all for giving me this brief moment of your story.
Isla's pups are also now big kids and are right there at the point of not seeming quite real. Perfectly perfect balls of fur running around thinking they are big stuff. From teeny tiny little beings to these confident strong and capable real life magical pups in the blink of an eye is mind blowing. And to think in just another couple months they will be almost the size of a full grown Golden. Dying to see these Tonka babies all grown up!
Visitors continue to come in to snuggle pups but to also figure out what pup pulls on heart strings, what pup interacts the best with whom and who the best match is for each family. I love watching the eyes lite up, the adults trying to contain their wiggles, the kids down right not containing their wiggles and having the time of their lives.
Laps try to get bigger and we all try to grow more arms to welcome more fluffs into our space. The babies thrive on all this attention so these visits really are a win win for everyone. The families get the chance to snuggle wee babes, play the 'which one is going to be mine' game, and the socialization exposure continues in full force.
I watch the pups romp amongst the family members secretly knowing full well who is probably going home with them. I spy the runner ups and watch quietly as they interact with them all. The 'which one is going to be theirs' game is just as fun for me as it is for them. Sometimes matching is very clear from early on and sometimes it takes all the way until the very last day to have everything I need surface to be able to make my final decision. I hope all these precious babes work their way into hearts just as they have with mine. Look at these searching eyes!!! The heart strings are definitely getting pulled!
I can't believe we are already on the home stretch with all these babies. These last couple weeks ahead are the hardest but the most rewarding. I'm hoping for some clear days ahead where we can get outside to play some more or if anything just some additional stroller walks will be great. Bellies get bigger, legs get stronger, voices get louder, patience gets tested and everyone gains confidence by the minute.
The mamas are all doing well. Meiko is quickly back up to her normal weight which is great. Isla and Leia are working on regaining quickly. All pups are now weaned completely so they are on their own time and will bounce back in the weeks ahead.
My last 2 pups that were once again available have now been reclaimed and the new families are bustling into high gear to catch up and prepare for this new fluff that is coming into their home on such short notice. Excitement and eagerness to make it happens makes the prep work just a touch easier.
I have SO MANY great photos of these guys! It's hard to get in motion photos that are remotely in focus but all the sleeping shots are the best and the action ones I do catch aren't bad either.
All the pups send their love out to everyone and eagerly await for their lives to shift, new bonds to form, new people to love, new noses to kiss, new grass and sticks to eat, and new heart strings to pull on. Oh the lives I get to bless. I am truly blessed.
